Painting a Day Project- Day 1
Has there ever been a better time for us to commit to new goals, whether small tiny daily changes or big dreams? I live in Paris, France and it is our third day in our second confinement because of the Covid global pandemic of 2020. We all need a bit of beauty right now and I am joining the movement of “isolation creation” during these weird times.
I’ve never done a “painting a day” challenge but here goes… For the month of November, I am committing (to myself mostly) to painting one minimal landscape watercolor a day. I am reflecting on past road trips, weekend getaways, and seasons of living in different areas of the world for my inspiration. Each painting is from one of my photographs taken while traveling.
I am starting with a road trip I was on exactly two years ago with my husband, Kyle, and dear friend Ellen on the Coastal Causeway Route in Northern Ireland. Honestly, if you have never been to Ireland you MUST add it to your bucket list. The lush greenery, salty ocean scent, and what seems like an eternal golden hour are seriously what your wanderlust dreams are made.
This minimal landscape watercolor painting brings me right back to the long walks Kyle, Ellen and myself took along the Northern Atlantic coast. We searched for sea glass for hours despite the dreary brisk wind. We woke up early to beat the crowds also exploring on the Coastal Causeway Route. And we were consistently awed at the rugged beauty of Northern Ireland.
