Lake Thun, Switzerland

We visited Interlaken, Switzerland in May of 2018 at the peak of spring wild flowers blooming on the sides of the lush green mountains that were still snow capped at the peaks. We took a boat ride on Thun Lake nearby. There was a major storm brewing all around us and in the distance (that later down poured on us). The contrast of the dark clouds but bright sun, lit the beautiful clear lake up in a way that I have never seen before.

This series of watercolor landscapes is a reflection on past road trips, weekend getaways, and seasons of life when we were able to travel freely. Each painting is painted from one of my photographs taken while traveling. It has me feeling very nostalgic for more simple times but also grateful for past adventures.
