"Juneau, Alaska II" Watercolor Painting Print
Lena Point, Juneau, Alaska
The first summer Kyle and I were married we lived in Juneau, Alaska. Juneau has a very wet climate and this summer was particularly rainy, the rainiest in Juneau history. Because it was always raining, we didn’t camp near as much as we had planned but this particular watercolor painting is from a night we camped at Lena Point. We could hear whales calling in the distance as we watched the light of summer slowly fade. I might have slept one hour that night because I was seriously terrified bears were going to come eat us.
This series of watercolor landscapes is a reflection on past road trips, weekend getaways, and seasons of life when we were able to travel freely. Each painting is painted from one of my photographs taken while traveling. It has me feeling very nostalgic for more simple times but also grateful for past adventures.
