Looking Past Nostalgia: November 23, 2020
Alcan Highway, Alaska
This is the view as we drove into Alaska off the Alcan Highway, some of which was gravel. It was quite the memorable road trip driving from Georgia to Alaska. It was a spectacularly clear day, really showing off all its glory.
We are all spending a lot more time at home this year. Rather than being disappointed about missed opportunities, I am painting this series of watercolor landscapes as a reflection on past road trips, weekend getaways, and seasons of life when we were able to travel freely. For the month of November, I am committing (to myself mostly) to paint one watercolor landscape a day. Each painting is from one of my photographs taken while traveling. It has me feeling very nostalgic for more simple times but also grateful for past adventures, which is why I am titling this collection Looking Past Nostalgia.
4in x 4in paper with 3in x 3in image.
Arches cold press watercolor paper, fine grain, 140 lb.

THIS PAINTING WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL JANUARY 1st!
I currently live in France where we are under confinement due to Covid-19 which greatly affects how long international mail takes to ship. I do not want your precious artwork to be lost in the mail. If you are ordering from a country other than France, please understand these will not be mailed until January. Because shipping will take so long, shipping will be free. Please select Looking Past Nostalgia shipping option when you check out. Thank you for understanding.
I recommend displaying this watercolor behind glass or out of direct sunlight to preserve the colors.
