Padre Ramos, Nicaragua
I had the joy of spending a month in a tiny village on the ocean in Nicaragua called Padre Ramos. Any time I cut open a lime the scent brings me right back to this village where citrus was abundant and people traveled the water in hand carved canoes. This particular spot was quite magical. We swam in the ocean during sunset as the tide slowly came in, leaving the one tree to itself for the night, like the tide was tucking it into bed.
This series of watercolor landscapes is a reflection on past road trips, weekend getaways, and seasons of life when we were able to travel freely. Each painting is painted from one of my photographs taken while traveling. It has me feeling very nostalgic for more simple times but also grateful for past adventures.
